• Welcome to Central Portugal! Here we found our new dream spot, the century-old country house "Casa do Alferes Curado." With our years of experience as a chambres d'hôtes-holders in France we will receive you as friends and as usual offer you an enjoyable stay.
• The house is located in Caneiro, a hamlet near Maçãs the Dona Maria, 50 km south of Coimbra.
  It is easy to reach with good access. In 2008 and 2009, the buildings have been fully renovated and the pool has been built.
  The two-hectares of land consists of lawns, terraces with mimosas, olive trees, cork oaks and fruit trees, an ancient wood, a little stream and water mines.
  Located at an altitude of 300 meters, the house offers magnificent views at the valleys with their vegetable gardens, vineyards and olive trees. The orange trees turn the landscape colourful.
  Casa do Alferes Curado is a bed and breakfast where you will find the 'good life'.
  You can enjoy a drink, delicious food and a pleasant ambiance at one of the terraces, near the swimmingpool or in the taproom.
  Here you can relax, read a book and enjoy alone- or with other guests- the beautiful nature and magnificient views.
  You can cool down in our swimmingpool, in the artificial lake (20 min. by car) or at the seaside (from 45 min. by car).
  In the nearby area you can make varied walks
• In our village Maçãs de Dona Maria (1 km.) you will find 2 small supermarkets. There is a bakery, a post-office, a bank, pubs, and a pharmacy. There are daily markets in the surrounding villages.
• In summer, almost every weekend you can find village parties (festas) where you can eat, drink and dance with the villagers. Sometimes beautiful processions make part of these 'festas'.
• The historic towns of Tomar, Coimbra, Nazaré and Leiria (30-60 min. by car) are a visit worth.
  
• The rooms:
  • The 2 spacious rooms are located on the first floor of the guesthouse. A natural stone staircase outside the house leads to the entrance.
    
  • The high ceilinged rooms are nicely decorated.
  • Each room comes equipped with two single beds (incl linen).
  • It is possible to add an extra bed.
  • The rooms offer very nice views at the valleys and the hills.
    
  • En suite private bathroom with washbasin, walk-in shower and toilet (towels are provided).
    
  • All rooms are heated by central heating.
    
• The luxurious apartment (70 m2):
  • The apartment is located on the ground floor of the guest house. It has its own entrances and is on one level.
  • The attractively furnished spacious kitchen is fully equipped with an original breadoven, woodburner, sink island, cooker with oven, dishwasher, micro-waves, washing machine and fridge/freezer.
  • The cosy living room also has a woodburner.
  • The bedroom comes with two single beds incl. linen. An extra bed is possible. En suite bathroom with 2 washbasins, walk-in shower and toilet. The bathroom is also accessible from the living room.
  • All rooms are heated by central heating.
  • It has its own private terrace with comfortable garden furniture and a bbq. Ofcourse you can also make use of our swimingpool.
  • The minimal rental period for the apartment is 3 nights.

how to get there:

from Lisbon Airport (about 2 hours drive)
*  Take the direction of A1 Norte direction Porto.
*  After 100 km. you take exit 7 and drive than at the A23.
*  After 17 Km. exit IC3/N110 direction Tomar, Coimbra.
*  After about 45 minutes you take exit Maçãs de Dona Maria.

from Porto Airport (about 2 hous drive)
*  You follow the sign A4 direction Porto.
*  Then you take the A1 direction Lisboa.
*  After 120 km. you take the exit Condeixa.
*  At Condeixa you take the exit IC3/ N110 direction Tomar.
*  after about 45 minutes take exit Maçãs de Dona Maria.

In Maçãs
*  Near the 2 supermarkets you turn in the 'Rua Calisto Curado'
    (direction of Cabeças).
*  After 200 meters you turn in the 'Rua Alferes Curado'.
*  After some turnings you see at your left hand nr. 20,
    Casa do Alferes Curado.
